Political activist and commentator Cletus Kwalekeme, widely known as "Erizia," has issued an urgent plea to the Inspector General of Police to transfer an ongoing investigation involving the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) from Zone 5 Headquarters in Benin City to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, citing threats to his life and police compromise.

Kwalekeme detailed a harrowing sequence of events following his initial arrest by Zone 5 officers in July. According to the activist, officers pressured him to destroy evidence detailing financial misconduct linked to high-profile figures, including PAP Administrator Dennis Otuaro and prominent ex-militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

"My life is no longer secure because the police officers asked me to delete everything on my phone concerning Tompolo and Dennis Otuaro," Kwalekeme stated, maintaining that he refused to clear the files because his claims are backed by solid evidence.

The confrontation escalated into a brutal abduction shortly after his conditional release. Kwalekeme reported that his captors explicitely stated they were sent to eliminate him for targeting PAP leadership. 

Ambushed at gunpoint with an English-made pistol, he was forced to choose between being shot or drinking an unknown black chemical substance from a bottle.

Opting to ingest the liquid, Kwalekeme was then severely battered, suffering severe physical damage. He now wears a cervical collar for spinal injuries and remains under intensive medical care for internal organ damage.

The activist connected the attack directly to his efforts to expose systematic corruption within the amnesty initiative, alleging that over ₦20 billion has been unlawfully siphoned from the program's coffers. 

He claims to hold extensive documentation, including banking statements, audio recordings, Bureau de Change transactions, and legal records detailing the financial improprieties.

Dismissing claims by supporters of the current administration that the program is undergoing reform, Kwalekeme questioned the integrity of the leadership, pointing to an unprecedented surge of militant generals, both male and female, who have been added to the Amnesty Programme by Dennis Otuaro.

Insisting that officers within the Zone 5 command structure have been compromised, Kwalekeme urged federal police authorities to intervene immediately, take custody of his case file, and deploy independent investigators to guarantee his safety and secure the evidence.
